Walter Joseph Peters, 90 of Chiefland, Florida, died Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at the Tri County Hospice Care Center.
Born in Metuchen, he lived in Menlo Park, Toms River and Lake Ariel, PA, before moving to Chiefland. He was a Home Contractor for many years. Walter and his wife Helen were the previous owners of Sand and Surf, Cadillac Motels in Seaside Heights and Caribe Motel in Atlantic City. He was a Veteran of the Korean War serving as a Sergeant in the United States Marines Corp.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Helen (nee Koropcsak) Peters who died in 2006, parents, Bertha E. Peters (nee Konops) and Alfred F. Peters, his sister, Agnes Grega and his brother, Albert Peters.
He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Tobias and her husband Steve, Leslie Bailey and her husband Steven, Cheryl Boyd and her husband Hugh J. III. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jordan, Taylor, Ashley and her husband Dr. Christos, Hugh IV, Alexis, Kacee, Morgan, Mason and his great-grandchildren, Azalea, Eleftherios and Marilena.
A burial will take place on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 11:30 am at Saint Joseph's Cemetery and Mausoleum 62 Cedar Grove Road, Toms River. Funeral Services were entrusted to Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy.
