Obituary

Modesto "Tite"  Nieves, 86 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy.  

Tite was born and raised in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and came to New York then to Perth Amboy in 1958. He was employed by Richmond Industries, Metuchen as their Supervisor for 23 years. He retired in 1996. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, an avid fisherman, pool and card player. He loved spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pedro Nieves and  Julia Aviles; loving father of Delia Vazquez, Jose Lui his grandson, Michael Anthony Nieves and 14 brothers and sisters.  

Tite is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years Adamina ( nee Nieves ); beloved father of Modesto and his wife Auria Nieves and Pedro Nieves; adored grandfather of 7, great-grandfather of 13 and great~great~grandfather of 3; cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews and cousin.

We begin to leave on Monday, 8:45 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a Funeral Mass at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment to follow at Alpine Cemetery. Visiting is on Sunday from 1 ~ 5 pm.
