Joseph A Kwasnofski, "Garden Pop" 88 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at Menlo Park Veterans Home, Edison with his family by his side.
Joe was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. When he was a younger man, he was a Pin Setter in Perth Amboy. He meet his beloved wife Eleanor at the Perth Amboy Roller Skating Arena, Perth Amboy in which he also worked. He served his country in the United States Air force during the Korean War. He then returned home and married his sweetie in 1959. He was employed by Axzo Chemical Co., Edison as a Chemical Operator. He was a parishioner of Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Holy Trinity Church, a member of Holy Trinity Seniors, Holy Name Society, Slovak American Club and the Colonia American Legion Post 248. He was known as "Farmer Joe" by all, for his love of gardening. He once grew a 400 pound pumpkin. Family and friends would visit Joe to see what he was growing in his greenhouse. Joe also loved to go crabbing and did so mostly every year of his life.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Eleanor ( nee Fedor ); loving daughter Karen Kapichak; son of Andrew and Mary ( nee Lesko ) Kwasnofski; his brother John Kwasnofski and his granddaughter Melanie Hatrak
He is survived by his devoted daughter Susan and her husband Joseph Buettel; adored grandfather of Joseph and his wife Kim Hatrak, Lauren and Joseph Buettel; great ~ grandfather of London, Rune, Storm and Thorn Hatrak, cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We will begin to leave on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at 9:15 AM from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a Funeral Mass at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Church, Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visiting is Tuesday 4 ~ 8 pm
