JoAnn Klein-Ihnat (nee Swallick) aka Happy the Clown, 76, Colonia, NJ
died September 25, 2021 at the Venetian in So. Amboy
Born in Perth Amboy, she lived in Colonia. She was employed by
Merck as a Microbiologist for many years. She was a member of St.
James R.C. Church and attended services at St. John’s Evg. Lutheran
Church and St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Ihnat, her parents
Elizabeth (nee Deak) and Joseph Swallick.
She is survived by many friends & family. She will be dearly missed.
JoAnn graduated from Woodbridge High School in 1963 and enjoyed
attending their Alumni luncheons. She was a former EMT Instructor,
former Member of Colonia First Aide Squad, Chaplain for Barbara
Chung Hospice, member of the WOTM Chapter 1247, Clownfest Staff,
member of the Jersey Comics and Master Clowns. But most of all she
was “Happy” The clown where she made people of all ages laugh and
We begin to leave on Friday at 10am from Gustav J. Novak Funeral
Home 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy. Burial will be at Woodbridge
Memorial Gardens. Visiting is on Thursday from 2 to 4 pm & 7 to 9 pm
