Anna Peczinka, 99, a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy, NJ died peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Amboy Care Center. She was just seven months shy of her 100th birthday. Born in Rakowa, Poland, Anna immigrated with her family on January 27, 1923 aboard the Berengaria arriving to the United States through Ellis Island. Anna worked at Daval Handbags and the Princeton Shirt Company in Perth Amboy. She was a lifelong member of the Ukrainian Assumption Church.
She is predeceased by her parents, Harry and Rose (nee Bobek) Peczinka, her brothers, John, Walter and Stephen Peczinka, her sisters, Mary (nee Peczinka) Bastug and Sophie Peczinka and her grandchildren, Christopher and Michael Peczinka.
She is survived by her brother, Joseph Peczinka of Westfield, her son, Ronald Peczinka and his wife Denise (nee Leveille) of Saint Cloud, Florida, her grandsons, Andrew Peczinka and his life partner Julia Steidler of Pitten, Austria and Jonathan Peczinka of Saint Cloud, Florida. Anna is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
We will begin to leave on Friday at 11:00 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home 419 Barclay Street Perth Amboy for a Divine Liturgy at 11:30 am at The Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary . Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery. Visiting is on Friday from 9 am to 11 am.
