Robert Leroy Fodor Sr., 85 of South Plainfield formally of Fords, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison with his family by his side.
Robert was born and raised in Fords before moving to South Plainfield 52 years ago. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. After receiving his Honorable discharge from the Army, Robert was employed by the Star Ledger as the Area Manager and then to the United States Post Office as a Letter Carrier for 20 years. He was a life long member of the VFW Post 6090 Fords and a parishioner of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Metuchen. Robert was very active in his community.
He is preceded in death by his cherished son Joseph W. Fodor, who passed away in 2013; loving son of Albert and Catherine ( nee Tatarka ); dear brother of Ronald and Albert Fodor.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years Mary Louise ( nee Robbins ); beloved father of Robert L. Fodor, Jr. and Kathleen A. Delaney, AUD; adored grandfather of Amanda and her husband James Dorsch, Vincent Fodor, Emily Delaney and Frank Delaney; cherished great-grandfather of Aidan, Alexander and Athena Dorsch; dear brother of Ralph and Stephen Fodor.
We begin to leave on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 10:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a Funeral service at 11 am at the St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Metuchen. Interment will be Private. Visiting is on Sunday from 2 ~ 6 pm.
