Palmira Ortiz ( nee Rivera ), 73 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Sunday, August 25, 2019 at her daughter's residence with her family by her side.
Palmira was born and raised in Utuado, Puerto Rico and came to Brooklyn, New York in 1961 then to Perth Amboy in 1965. She was employed by Englert, Industries, Woodbridge as an machine operator for over 25 years. She retired in 2011. She was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and a member of the Woman's Club.
She is preceded in death by her loving parents Ramon and Basilisa ( nee Gonzalez ); dear sister of Able Rivera.
She is survived by beloved daughters Madelina Martinez and her husband Melvin Bulosan; Evelyn and her husband Daniel Solis, Maritza and her husband Jeff Smathers and Elenita Medina; dear sister of Herminio, Efrain Rivera, Iris Perez, Luz "Nelly" Cruz, Isaura Selgado; adored grandmother of 10 and great ~ grandmother of 6; cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We begin to leave on Friday, August 30, 2019 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Hungary Cemetery, Fords. Visiting is on Thursday from 5 ~ 9 pm.
