Miriam D. De Jesus, nee Marrero, 63, of Perth Amboy, passed away peacefully at home in the company of her family, Thursday December 27, 2018. Miriam was a lifelong resident of Perth Amboy. She was a former communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and taught in the Perth Amboy School System for over 20 years at the Samuel E. Schull School, and the Pre-K of the Ignacio Cruz Elementary School, Retiring in 2016.
Personable and keen, previous to teaching. Miriam’s professional life included Community Educator for ASPIRA, Inc. a Social Worker for both Raritan Bay Medical Center, Perth Amboy and Union Hospital, Union. She was also a sales representative for Philip Morris USA and No nonsense fashions.
As a beloved daughter and sister, she is predeceased in death by her parents John and Anabel (nee Muniz) and her Sister Lillian A. Marrero.
Miriam, a cherished wife and mother is survived by her husband Jesus “Jay”, and her children Jason and Lauren, as well as brothers Johnny and Frank Marrero and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Her bright smile, cheery disposition, and generous heart will be sadly missed by her family and many friends who held her in high esteem.
We begin to leave on Wednesday, January 2, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at the Saint John Paul II Parish at St. Stephens Church. Interment will follow at Alpine Cemetery. Visiting is on Monday from 2 ~ 6 pm.
