Gerardino Acevedo, 77 of Jacksonville, Florida, formally of Perth Amboy, passed away on Friday, August 10, 2018 at her residence with his family by his side.
Gerardino was born in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico and came to Perth Amboy and later retired to Jacksonville, Florida. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War.He was employed by Anixter, Company as a Machinist for 15 years. He retired in 2008. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
He is preceded in death by his devoted wife Elvira Torres, who passed away in 2017; loving son of Leonardo and Sebastiana ( nee Nieves ) Acevedo.
He is survived by his beloved sons Geraldo "Jerry" and his wife Michele, Abdiel and Asbel Acevedo; dear brother of Porirfia "Lydia", David, Eduardo, Fernando, Rosa and Leonipes Acevedo; adored grandfather of Jason, Jessica and Myrah Acevedo; cherished uncle of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
We begin to leave on Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a funeral mass at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Iselin. Visiting is on Tuesday from 2 ~ 6 pm.
