As an accomplished seamstress, she sewed dresses and gowns for her first born niece Rita Yusko Pajak, and dresses, gowns and coats for her daughter, Janice. Ethel learned how to "tat" by reading directions from books on making delicate lace with hand held 3 inch shuttle, probably a lost art.

Ethel was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Church ( Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish ). In her younger years, Ethel was active and contributing member of the PTA ( Parent Teacher's Association ), a member of the Church Choir and a faithful member of the Rosary Society. She was a weekly worshipper for over 105 years.
