Ethel A. Fech ( Yaros ), 111 of Perth Amboy, departed this world to begin eternal life on March 2, 2018.
Ethel died peacefully at home under the care of her daughter, Janice, sister Maria Dziuban, R.N., a little servant Sister of the Immaculate Conception, and Magdalena Krajnakova, a nurse's aide.
Family and Friends are invited to gather at Holy Trinity Church, 315 Lawrie Street, Perth Amboy, for a funeral liturgy on Friday, March 9, 2018 at 11 am. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
Ethel was the daughter of Wendel & Josephine ( Dedinsky) Yaros, the third of nine children. She is predeceased by all her siblings: Rose, Yusko, Ann Vandenbos, Josephine Hnath, Wendel Yaros, Joseph Yaros, Mary Hudak, Stephen Yaros and Benedict Yaros. She was also predeceased by an infant newborn son Dennis Fech, in 1947. Ethel was married for over 70 years to John G. Fech, who passed from this life to eternity on December 16, 1999.
Ethel was an outstanding homemaker, who developed many interests and skills. She collected recipes and improvised on them becoming a gourmet cook. She enjoyed cooking, baking and decorating her home and entertained with graciousness and camaraderie. Her baking skills boasted of Slovakian yeast dough poppy seed and walnut rolls, home made breads, kneaded by hand and fruit pies which she shared with family and friends. As an accomplished seamstress, she sewed dresses and gowns for her first born niece Rita Yusko Pajak, and dresses, gowns and coats for her daughter, Janice. Ethel learned how to "tat" by reading directions from books on making delicate lace with hand held 3 inch shuttle, probably a lost art.
Ethel was a life-long member of Holy Trinity Church ( Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish ). In her younger years, Ethel was active and contributing member of the PTA ( Parent Teacher's Association ), a member of the Church Choir and a faithful member of the Rosary Society. She was a weekly worshipper for over 105 years.
Ethel was employed by local sewing factories and worked as an assembly line worker in Regina Corporation, Rahway, for many years before retiring in her 60's.
Ethel is survived by her daughter Janice C. Fech, her niece and goddaughter Donna Griffonetti and her husband Louis, her nephews and nieces Jerry Yaros and his wife Marlene, Bernard Yaros and his wife Mireya, Doris Morgan and her husband Raymond, Audrey Straczynski and her husband Richard, Dennis Hudak and his wife Sherry, Valerie Bialous and Ronald Yaros.
