Aida I. Rivera, 75 of Perth Amboy, passed away on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at her residence with her family by her side.
Aida was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico and came to Perth Amboy 59 years ago. She was employed by the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home, Edison as a cook for over 25 yerars. She retired in 2011. She was a parishioner of the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at La Asuncion Church, Perth Amboy. She loved cooking, kniting and cheering on her favorite baseball team, the New York Yankees.
She is preceeded in death by her loving parents Rumualdo and Dolores ( nee Cortes ) Rivera.
He is survived by her devoted companion Santos Mercado; devoted mother of Virgen, Lourdes Muniz, Martin and his wife Maritza Cortes, Romeo Muniz, Jr., Wanda, Santos Jr. and Cyndy Mercado; loving sister of Eduardo, Nilda, Luz and Gladys Rivera; adored grandmother of 17 and great ~ grandmother of 16; cherished aunt of many nieces, nephews, cousins, grandnieces, grandnephews and many dear friends.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at 8:30 pm at the Gustav J. Novak funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy. Interment will be private. Visiting is on Wednesday from 2 ~ 4 & 7 ~ 9 pm.
