Mary Ellen (Bodaj) Nehila, Born September 27th 1938, passed October 9th 2017, peacefully, embraced by her loving family.
Parents Paul and Nellie, Brothers Frank and wife Helen, Walter and wife Sophie, and John passed into Gods Kingdom prior to Mary. At a young age Mary was loved, cared for and nurtured by her brothers and sister in laws, which she was forever grateful.
Mary’s life was one of boundless love and devotion to God and family. Mary and her husband Emil shared endless love, respect and the deepest caring two people could ever experience. Emil will cherish her always. Mary’s children Thomas and Sharon will treasure the infinite gifts of love, caring, wisdom and support that she bestowed upon them from childhood to adulthood. Thomas and his wife Denise, and Sharon and her companion Gene were blessed to have Mary as a constant source of love and support in their lives. Grandchildren Tyler, Christian, Kathryn, Emma and Chase were the treasures of her life that filled her heart with love and pride. They will carry the memories and love of their grandmother in their hearts for a lifetime. Mary loved so many of her family whether your name was Nehila or Bodaj you were all deeply loved and always in her prayers.
Mary tirelessly devoted her time and efforts to Holy Trinity Parish in Perth Amboy, NJ. The Alter Rosary Society gave her great joy and she cherished being a vital member. Mary’s full life also included membership in the Holy Trinity Seniors and the Raritan Bay Slovak Club.
Raritan Bay Medical Center was a fulfilling and rewarding place of employment and friendships she made their continued into her retirement.
There will never be enough time or words to convey the love we have for her, and now trust in God’s grace and love.
We will begin to leave on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 9:15 am from the Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home, 419 Barclay Street, Perth Amboy for a Funeral Mass at 10 am at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish at Holy Trinity Church, 474 Lawrie Street, Perth Amboy, NJ 08861. Interment will follow at Holy Trinity Cemetery. Visiting is on Friday from 4 ~ 8 pm.
